Before You Begin

Mounting

S100 / S100K (Mullion Mount)

  1. Position the mounting plate on the mullion or flat surface at the desired height (typically 48 in / 122 cm from finished floor to reader center).
  2. Mark and drill two mounting holes using the template on the back of the mounting plate.
  3. Route the cable through the wall or conduit and through the plate's cable opening.
  4. Secure the mounting plate with the supplied #8 screws and wall anchors.
  5. Connect the reader's pigtail or terminal block wires (see Wiring section below).
  6. Snap the reader onto the mounting plate until both retention clips engage.
  7. Verify the tamper switch is depressed by the mounting surface.

S200 / S200K (Single-Gang Box Mount)

  1. Install a standard single-gang electrical box flush with the wall surface.
  2. Route the cable into the box through a knockout.
  3. Attach the slotted mounting plate to the box using the supplied 6-32 screws.
  4. Connect the reader's pigtail or terminal block wires (see Wiring section below).
  5. Align the reader with the mounting plate and secure with the captive screw at the bottom.
  6. Verify the tamper switch is depressed by the mounting plate.

Troubleshooting

Symptom Possible Cause Resolution
No LED on power-up No power or incorrect polarity Verify 12 V DC at reader terminals. Check red/black wire polarity.
LED on, no card reads Communication not established Verify OSDP address matches panel config. Check RS-485 A/B wiring (swap if reversed).
Intermittent reads Cable or termination issue Check cable shielding. Enable 120 Ω termination on last reader. Verify cable length limits.
Tamper alarm at rest Tamper switch not depressed Ensure reader is fully seated on mounting plate. Verify tamper switch alignment.
BLE not connecting BLE disabled or range too low Verify BLE is enabled in reader config. Increase BLE read range setting.
